Daisy Asquith is obsessed with documentaries.
At 19 she was working as a receptionist for an independent documentary company in Soho. She started doing one-to-one filming on a hi-8 camcorder with the children featured in the groundbreaking series 'The Decision'. The resulting material won the Royal Television Society Award for Best Documentary Series. Daisy was then asked what she would like to do next.
'15' was an extremely intimate and illuminating series about teenagers, filmed on the same estate in Brixton where her teenage sister was bringing up a child. It won the same RTS award for the second year running and was also nominated for a BAFTA.
Daisy then spent two years gaining near impossible access to modern British arranged marriages and travelling around Pakistan for Marrying A Stranger.
Daisy works best alone with a small camera; her films thrive on many hours, weeks and months spent getting inside her contributors' heads.
